Having a logo design created for your business or personal use is such a pivotal moment. As a graphic design company specializing in logos, we have the privilege of collaborating with clients at the very beginning of their brand journey. A logo is often the cornerstone of your brand identity, and we guide you through the process of planning, research, and execution to ensure it perfectly embodies your vision. We educate our clients on these steps ensuring that their logo comes out exactly how they envisioned it. Our team will explain how certain colors, fonts & graphics go together to create a distinct and impactful brand identity. Remember, a powerful logo sets you apart from the crowd. After your logo is complete, the decision to trademark it lies with you.
For trademarking your logo, remember:
Nymy Media does not trademark logos. However, we provide you with everything you need, so if you do decide to trademark your logo, you are equipped. Here are some of the things that you will need when applying for your trademark:
Font Licenses: Most graphic design companies will use several different fonts when designing a logo. These fonts come with a license for personal or commercial use. Ask your designer for a copy of the license when they are sending the final files. We suggest purchasing all files used in your logo just to be safe.
Raw Art Files: Once the logo is complete, the designer should provide different file types for your use. You must make sure that you have the raw art files that are not flattened. Some of the file types you should be looking to obtain are:
.AI
JPG/JPEG
.PNG
.EPS
These logo files should be all you need for trademarking, print media, web design & much more.
Color Codes: When creating a logo, we ask our clients which colors they want to incorporate in the design. The response is normal, they provide the names of the colors as asked. But each color comes with a code. There are several different shades of each color. The CMYK and RGB color code chart has several numbers that correspond with different colors. Ask your designer to mark out the exact color code used in your logo as indicated in the logo color guide. This information is also crucial for trademarking your logo.
Remember: Trademarking your logo is an additional step after design creation. While Nymy Media can’t assist with the trademarking process directly, we equip you with the necessary information and files to proceed if you choose to do so.
